What we collect when you register or ask to be told about a #HACK India gathering, why we need it, who handles your payment, and how long we keep any of it.
Effective 15 October 2026
- 01
What you tell us
Registration: name, email, WhatsApp number, city, college or organisation, course or job role, and anything you write about access or support needs. The notify list: first name (optional), email, WhatsApp number, city, and whether you want messages. You also tell us whether you accept the code of conduct.
- 02
What we do not ask for
No card number, no CVV, no bank login, no password, no ID document, no date of birth, and nothing about your church, caste or denomination. Nobody is asked to prove their faith in order to take part.
- 03
Your payment
Fees are collected by Razorpay on their own secure checkout. Card, UPI and wallet details go to Razorpay and the payment networks, never to this website. We keep only what confirms your place: the amount, the category, the order and payment reference, and whether the payment succeeded.
- 04
Where your details live
In a database hosted for this site, reachable by the people who run it and the city team for the gathering you signed up for. A payment's status is visible only in the browser where that registration was started.
- 05
Why we use it
To confirm your place, send the practical details you would otherwise ask for — address, timings, what to bring — keep the room safe, and reply to your messages. WhatsApp messages about a gathering go only to people who ticked that box.
- 06
Who else sees it
The city organisers for your gathering and the people who run the national site. Nothing is sold, nothing is used for advertising, and nothing is passed to sponsors. The only processors involved are Razorpay for payments and the hosting provider that runs our database.
- 07
Cookies and tracking
This site uses only what it needs to work: the sign-in session for the city console, and a short-lived record in your own browser that lets a registration you started be resumed if the page reloads. There is no advertising cookie and no third-party marketing tracker on these pages.
- 08
How long we keep it
Registration and payment records stay for the gathering and then for as long as accounts and any dispute require. Notify-list entries stay until you ask us to remove them.
- 09
Your choices
Ask to see, correct or delete what we hold; withdraw WhatsApp consent at any time by replying stop or writing to us; or object to a use not described here. If we do not fix something, you can raise it with the data-protection authority set up under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act.
- 10
How to reach us
Email jaison@digitalmissions.in, call +91 98191 77310, or write to Digital Missions India, Sangria Towers, Megapolis, Hinjewadi Phase 3, Pune 411057.
- 11
Under eighteens
Participants are sixteen and over. Anyone under eighteen registers with a parent or guardian's knowledge; the safeguarding contact named on the city page is the person to reach if anything about that is unclear.
